Website Redo... almost
Well, I have had enough! You may recall that I was rather disturbed by Apple's decision to convert the .Mac envirment to the new and supposedly improved Mobile Me. I suppose if I had an iPhone I would find this intriguing, but I don't and therefore I'm not.
After slowly watching them whittle away at the .Mac legacy features such as gene.deal@mac.com soon to leave me with gene.deal@me.com as my only email options. Ugh!
Of course I have genedeal.com which gives me the option of having 'ME' @genedeal.com, but I will probably hold off. I had enough trouble 'dot-com-ing' myself in the first place.
So, I have begun to migrate the site from .mac/ME-ME-ME to my hosted domain at xmission.com. This isn't a giant redo, but there are changes that must be accounted for such email address links and other things unseen.
So, if you get a chance check things out, let me know if you find anything broken. That also means that for the 2 or 3 of you who have saved links to pages within the site, they'll be broken. www.genedeal.com will now take you to the new site, but the internal link structure has changed.
The upside is that it appears that the entire site is much faster on xmission!
Another fallout is that any email address you have for me ending in .mac will be obsolete by the end of the month. I will be sending out an email (to most of you) with the new email address. Meanwhile, if we've lost touch try clicking on my name below or the 'contact me' link at the bottom of each page.
